Escape at DOK Leipzig

Earlier this year, Care International commissioned me to make a short documentary. The resulting film, Escape, is part of the Official Selection - International Documentary Programme at DOK Leipzig, after being screened in the Balkans at Sarajevo Film Festival and Dokufest.

Very excited to announce that A Letter to Dad will start in cinemas in Croatia on January 25th 2013, distributed by Restart.

Mirage on tour and VOD in Poland

Mirage will be part of the WATCH DOCS Traveling Festival in 2013, touring nearly 40 cities and towns in Poland. In addition, the film can be seen in Poland on the VOD Watch Docs channel during the next 6 months.

The First Step to premiere at LSFF

Mirage in competition in Jihlava

Mirage has been selected for the Between the Seas competition of Central and East European documentaries at Jihlava International Documentary Festival 2012. I will also take part as one of the 10 directors selected for the Inspiration Forum.

A Letter to Dad has been acquired by the BFI for their National Film Archive - an unlikely addition to the British national heritage.

Jury Member at Dokufest

I had the honour of being a member of the Balkan Jury at Dokufest 2012 together with Marta Andreu and Cinta Peleja. The Best Balkan Documentary Award went to Ilian Metev's Sofia's Last Ambulance, a small miracle of a film.

Mirage wins at Cinema City

Mirage has been awarded Best Film in Up to 10,000 Bucks competition at Cinema City International Film Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Festival Delle Lettere Commission

I have been commissioned by the Festival Delle Lettere from Milan (as part of their collaboration with the London Short Film Festival) to make a short film based on a letter. The film will be shown at the next edition of the Letters' Festival.

A Letter to Dad wins BELDOCS

A Letter to Dad was awarded with both Best Serbian Documentary and FIPRESCI Serbia Best Documentary at BELDOCS 2012 Festival in Belgrade. It is touring cinemas in 30 cities in Serbia.

During April and May I was guest lecturer in Documentary Film at the Faculty of Media and Communication in Belgrade.

Mirage featured in Sight & Sound

Mirage was featured in the January edition of Sight & Sound Magazine:

A Letter to Dad had its International Premiere in the Official Selection at IDFA.

Nominated for IDF Silver Eye Award

A Letter to Dad was nominated for the Silver Eye award for best mid-length documentary, awarded by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague.

Extra Muros Award in Sarajevo

Mirage was awarded the top prize at Pravo Ljudski Film Festival in Sarajevo.

Cottbus Discovery Award

Mirage won the Cottbus Discovery Award at Cottbus Film Festival. It also screened at Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam and Branchage Film Festival.

The Real Social Network pre-release

The Real Social Network was screened in more than 30 universities accross the UK as part of it's pre-release.
